July 1862  – Army commissioned a base to protect trains and stage lines on the Overland Trail.  The base at the time was along the Poudre River near what is now LaPorte.

June 1864 – The Poudre River flooded, destroying the camp, so a local homesteader by the name of Joseph Mason suggested a parcel of land next to his claim.

August 1864 – Colonel Collins issued Special Order #1 relocating camp to site suggested by Mason.  This site, known as Camp Collins centered near the present intersection of Willow and Linden.

Winter of 2006 – current land owner has idea to build unque project.  After several focus group tests and lots of meetings with potential buyers, the concept and amenities of Rooftops on the River is developed.  A fantastic plan with home sites with easy access to Old Town and all of its amenities with the unique feature of an outdoor, rooftop space to enjoy everything that is so beautiful about Colorado.
